SUUNTO
GAMES
7th-8th
June, 2008
Suunto Games
is one of the most remarkable early summer
orienteering event in Finland. It is one week before Jukola
Relay. The demanding courses in good terrain , experienced
event organisation and 1400 - 1500 runners guarantee its
popularity year after year.
Suunto Games
has presented to spectators in addition to
their own competition exciting experiences with top
orienteering (Finnish Top League in 2002 , 2005 and Nordic
Meeting in 2003). We believe that exciting moments continue
even in 2008.
Competition centre is
totally in a new place and all services very near as usually.
Iy is reached by car lesser than 30 minutes north-west from
the centre of Helsinki. Public transport bus stop is about two
kilometeters from the competition centre.
Competitions
last two days. In both days all categories have an
individual start
All categories are
available, even Elite-categories. Most A-categories have an
alternative shorter course. String courses for the young will
be available, too.
Courses are on Saturday
short distances and on Sundays long (classical) distances
Terrain type is familiar
for Suunto Games: demanding small features. Main part of the
competition area is nature reservation area used never or more
than 15 years ago for orienteering competitions.
Map will be printed in
spring 2008
Open orienteering is
available in both days. You can select among several different
courses.
Cafe, washing facilities,
children-care and first aid services are available as usual.
